Oil Change
Our Oil Change Services
Are you using the correct oil viscosity for your vehicle? It’s an important distinction to make, since the higher the viscosity of the oil, the greater the resistance it offers to a car’s moving parts, decreasing fuel economy.
Clean oil is also a significant contributor to improved gas mileage. To that end, our technicians recommend that engine oil in all vehicles be changed every 5-8000 kilometres.
Conventional Oil:
The least expensive of oils, conventional oil is made from crude oil processed in a refinery to create a base oil. Additives mixed in changes its viscosity, protection properties and even its heat breakdown levels. It is recommended that you change your oil every 5,000 kilometres if using conventional oil.
Semi-Synthetic Oil:
Semi-synthetic oils are a mix of synthetic oil and conventional oil, providing some of the benefits of synthetic oils for older vehicles. Despite the high-quality nature of this oil, it cannot provide the full benefits of synthetic oil. It is recommended that you change your oil every 6,500 kilometres if using semi-synthetic oil.
Synthetic Oil:
Synthetic oil’s more stable and consistently-shaped and sized molecules allow it to withstand temperatures of over 400 degrees F. Thanks to the chemical production of this oil, there are no contaminants. Now available at viscosity ratings as low as 0W-30, these synthetic oils flow up to seven times faster than conventional oils of the same rating at start-up, but act like regular grade 30 oil at normal operation temperatures. It is recommended that you change your oil every 8,000 kilometres if using synthetic oil
